No Dead Elephant In One Of Africa's Largest Reserves

A quiet but important anniversary was celebrated in a national reserve in Mozambique last May: the Niassa Reserve has gone an entire year without any cases of elephant poaching. Illegal hunting led to the deaths of over 9000 animals in the space of five years, but the number has been dropping steadily since 2015, until it reached zero this year.
